Focus groups for the PACTORES project held in Pallars Sobirà and Jussà: Issues in the commercialization of meat from extensive farming practices

This week, as part of the PACTORES project, we visited Pallars Sobirà and Jussà to present results of the project relating to the typology of farms and to talk to farmers about extensive management and the value chains of their products.

A total of 30 producers participated in two sessions organized in Sort and Tremp, where we had the opportunity to learn about the difficulties and challenges involved in the commercialization of the meat from cows, sheep, and goats.

Lower prices, enhanced competitiveness, and strong regulations were some of the issues which participants claim are making their work increasingly difficult. At the end, we also had time to discuss new and innovative methods of adding value to their products based on the potentialities of the sector.

We at CREDA would like to thank the participants for sharing their ideas and thoughts about their labor with us.
